Phillip Island

Phillip Island Phillip Island  is a little island about 140 kilometres south of Melbourne. Most of this island is a national park to protect the small penguins who are the island's most known attraction.

Penguin ParadeEvery day at sunset, these Fairy Penguins return from a day fishing in the waters surrounding Phillip Island back to their burrows on land. This "Penguin Parade" as it is called takes place every evening all year round. Phillip Island Circuit

There is a racing track on Phillip Island for all of you who are interested in motor sports and esp. motorcycle. Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is the name of the track and it has activities all year round i.e the Australian 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix, which is held here each October.

The main town on the island is called Cowes and is the home for about 3000 people.

Koala Conservation Centre is a big enclosure where you can go and look at koalas in their natural habitat. Even though you know they are there somewhere, they are very hard to spot.
